This 1978 25th Anniversary Corvette sat in the Troy, North Carolina, showroom of Chevrolet dealer Al Lincoln for five years. When Lincoln retired from the dealership in 1983, he towed the car to his home, where it sat under a car cover in the carport for the next 40 years -- never driven, but cranked from time to time. The original Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin was lost in a fire in the 1980s. The MCO was replaced by General Motors, but Lincoln never titled the car. After Lincoln died in 1999, his wife, Elsie, maintained the car the same way until her death in 2017. Eventually titled to the Lincolns' grandsons as part of estate proceedings, the car continued to occupy that same spot in the carport until Iron Horse Auction Company carefully moved it August 29, 2023.
